Ms. Jen Ashlock joined Tortoise in 2014. Previously, Ms. Ashlock was a managing director at NYSE Euronext in the firm’s global marketing and branding group in both Chicago and New York and also held a variety of marketing positions at Morgan Stanley.
Ms. Ashlock graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in finance and earned a Master of Business Administration degree from DePaul University. She served on the Mariner Foundation Board and currently serves as the chairperson for the Tortoise Foundation Board.

As co-president of the Investment Industry Services Division, he drives the strategic and tactical initiatives for team. Chris is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Ohio Society of CPAs, and was a founding board member of the Cleveland Professional 20/30 Club. Jillian L. Bosmann represents investment companies and business development companies and their boards of directors. She also advises investment advisers on regulatory, compliance and corporate matters. Jillian is a partner in the nationally ranked Investment Management Practice Group.
In addition to providing ongoing representation, Jillian has assisted funds and their advisers with developing a wide variety of investment products, including mutual funds and mutual fund complexes, closed-end funds, continuously offered closed-end funds, exchange-traded funds, business development companies, funds serving as the underlying investment vehicle for variable insurance products, and private funds. Bruce is the co-founder of Berkshire Global Advisors and co-leads the Firm’s Wealth Management practice.
Bruce joined Mr. McEver in establishing Berkshire in 1983 as the first independent investment bank covering the investment management and securities industries. Dave joined Ultimus in 2013. As Director of Client Strategies, Dave's primary responsibilities include serving as president for two series trusts and as president or officer of stand-alone trusts, providing expert assistance to investment managers considering starting a fund, and serving as senior relationship manager for certain clients.
Dave has been in the financial services industry since 1981 and has almost twenty-five years of fund and asset management experience. Dave has been Chief Compliance Officer for mutual fund families, registered investment advisers, and an ETF trust. He also served as Chief Operations Officer for a mutual fund family, and previously had senior management responsibility for fund and adviser marketing, fund wholesaling, transfer agency, shareholder servicing and adviser compliance. Earlier in his career Dave was a corporate IT audit manager, and managed holding company-level credit quality reporting.
Dave co-founded and served as president of Advancing Fund Governance, a forum for fund trustees and senior officers. He is also a former trustee and secretary of the Greater Cincinnati Mutual Funds Association, and former trustee and board president of the Cincinnati Shakespeare Festival. Andrew’s team advises Quasar on legal issues arising under the Investment Company Act as well as on SEC and FINRA regulatory matters. Andrew is considered a subject matter expert on trends and developments in the fund distribution marketplace and is a frequent public speaker on the subject. Andrew joined Quasar in 2004. Prior to his role in Quasar, Andrew was an assistant district attorney for Waukesha County, Wisconsin. Andrew assumed the role of secretary for Quasar Distributors in 2004.
Andrew received his Bachelor degree in journalism from the University of Nebraska Lincoln and his law degree from Marquette University Law School. He was a member of the National Championship team at the 2002 Ruby Vale National Corporate Law Moot Court Competition.
Ryan Tagal is the Director of Product Management at Envestnet ৷PMC (‘PMC’). In this role, he oversees all product management and development for PMC’s suite of product and service offerings. This includes product oversight of PMC’s managed portfolios, consulting, and research offerings. He also participates in the overall leadership and management of PMC, from a strategic positioning standpoint.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Tagal was a Vice President of Product Management for Envestnet’s Product Group, overseeing product ownership for areas of the Envestnet platform relating to Envestnet’s separately managed account program and manager research. Mr. Tagal also acted as the Associate Portfolio Manager for PMC’s Paradigm Liquid Alternatives Portfolios and continues to serve on the firm’s liquid alternatives group. He was a key member in the development of Envestnet’s classification and portfolio construction framework for mutual funds that employ alternative investment strategies.
Prior to joining Envestnet, Mr. Tagal led Morningstar’s hedge fund initiative.
