Matt Patsky, CEO, Trillium Asset Management, told the US SIF Investing in Impact Conference that investors have been successful in affecting ESG policy on both the state and national levels.
He participated in the panel entitled “What’s Next: How Will the New Administration Affect Sustainable and Impact Investing?” The panel included Debra Schwartz of the John D. and Catherine T. McArthur Foundation and Lisa Woll, CEO of US SIF, moderated by Andy Green.
Of concern to the panel was the U.S House of Representatives proposed legislation that would restrict shareholders who want to put proposals on companies’ annual meeting ballots to those who own one percent or more of a company’s outstanding shares. This would restrict all but the largest institutional shareholders from having a voice on corporate policy.
